I was responsible for crafting the visual identity and art direction for Another Narrative, ensuring that its design system embodies the brand’s mission of using communication as a force for good. From concept to execution, I developed an identity that balances clarity with a critical edge, reinforcing Another Narrative’s role in shaping discourse around democracy, human rights, and climate action.
At the heart of the identity is the logomark, which I designed from a set of abstract shapes forming a distinct portal—symbolising the brand’s role in opening up conversations and shifting perspectives. Inspired by the idea of filtration, the logomark reflects refinement, distillation, and curation—just as Another Narrative sifts through noise to uncover clarity.
The colour palette was derived from natural elements tied to climate; earth, water, and air—creating a foundation that feels grounded and intentional. I implemented an 80/20 colour strategy, where neutral tones provide consistency and impact colours are used sparingly to create emphasis, ensuring moments of urgency feel deliberate and considered.
In defining the art direction, I developed a visual language that is sharp, intelligent, and quietly defiant. Imagery is raw yet refined—never overworked—maintaining an honest, natural aesthetic. I introduced a considered approach to cropping as a storytelling tool, allowing for moments of depth and focus, framing narratives with intention.
Through this work, I shaped an identity that not only reflects Another Narrative’s values but also actively supports its mission—commanding attention with restraint, fostering critical thought, and inviting people into meaningful conversations.
